My Introduction

About Me

My name is Alec Boyer. I'm from Pennsylvania but nowhere near any of the big cities that exist there.  I am a freshman at High Point University and my field of study is Sports Communications. My goal with my degree used to be 1 singular thing with no other options I wanted to pursue but recently I ended up changing that in my head to expand my options. My goal now is to either become a baseball announcer (which was my original goal), or to become a sports journalist. I decided to expand just off of baseball announcer since I also do enjoy writing about sports and I want to see which one I enjoy more over time.

Plenty of Interests

My major interests are sports as well as video games and they have been some of my biggest interests for a majority of my life. With sports I enjoy to watch them more than I do to actually play them. I enjoy watching football, baseball, and basketball and I also really enjoy the statistical side of the sports as well. My interest in sports and the enjoyment I have in talking about is really the whole reason for the major I decided on. With my other major interest, video games, it is another thing that in my life has really been one of the most enjoyable parts of my life. I can enjoy playing video games by myself or with others and almost all the time I can find some form of enjoyment from it. It has helped me to meet tons of new people and has helped me to make friends that will last for a lifetime, whether I have actually met them in real life or not. My final major interest that I have just recently gotten into has been coin collecting. One of the biggest reasons for my interest in coin collecting getting much bigger now than it was before is because of the parts of my grandfather's coin collection that I inherited. It showed me how much time he actually put into his collection and that really made me want to add on to what he had already collected as well as finding coins that I enjoyed to collect and look at myself.

Some Fun Facts about Me

A fun fact about me is that I used to do band throughout middle school. I did percussion from 5th to 8th grade and was really an enjoyable experience for me. It did end on a sour note when I hurt my knee during our last parade of the year in 8th grade and couldn't march the parade but it was still an overall exciting experience. I did eventually try to get back into percussion during my senior year of high school but it didn't end up working out because it was during a tough time after my grandfather had passed away and it didn't end up working out how I wanted it to in the long run.
