Photoshopping Madness

Image
Of the many options, I decided to work to make a meme based on something I had seen in the news recently. That event was Zaza Pachulia falling on Russell Westbrook in a game between the Warriors and Thunder. With these pictures, I wanted to make a meme about how even if Zaza was the only person in a location, in this case a gym, he would still find a way to "trip" and fall over onto someone. I chose the empty gym to specifically signify that he is the only person there and there is no one he could trip or fall onto. With my edit, I cut the background out of the picture of Zaza in order to have him be in the gym for the meme. Once that was done I positioned him in the picture so I could have text above and below him. I also decided to go with purple text because I felt it contrasted best against all the colors the text would be over. I think it really came out well and made a nice meme for a recent issue in the NBA.

Swatches

For this blog post I decided that the best picture for me to use would be something that I see almost everyday. I decided to take a picture from my room of the walkway outside of my dorm, which I thought had a variety of colors and shades that I could choose from. After taking this picture I had to decide what colors I wanted to focus in on. I decided to focus in on the trees, the grass, and the bricks. I felt that the dark brown of the trees would contrast very well against the light green of the grass on the right side of the picture. I also felt that they would both contrast well with the dusty red color of the bricks on the paths as well. With the three versions of the nameplates, I feel that some contrasted much better than others. For example, I feel the first one makes both text types very easy to read while the others have some text that is harder to read. With the last one, it shows a poor example of contrast because the red and brown ended up being too similar to ea...

Brochure

Front of the Brochure  Back of the Brochure  Inside of the Brochure This brochure was one that I found one day after I went to go get lunch in the Slane Student Center. When it comes to limiting fonts I think it does a good job on putting that to use. On each of the different pictures, only one or two font types are used and are used in a way that makes it really look consistent throughout. I think it also does a good job of keeping the secondary font basic as all of the text giving information is a very easy to read font and doesn't take away from what the brochure is saying. The one improvement I would make when it comes to the principle of limiting fonts is that it feels like they only used one text type throughout. I feel that they could have used a fancier or more artistic font for the title as to catch someone's eye when they were passing by. With the current font it seems very basic like the font for the information and doesn't do a great job to help...
